Microsoft has done away with the idea of upgrading Minecraft's classic blocky style into a high end one.
Mojang, Minecraft developer, states that the Graphics Pack showcased at E3 2017 “proved too technically demanding to implement as planned.” The Super Duper Graphics Pack would have enabled “excessive visual razzmatazz” in the cross-platform version. Other features like HDR visuals, 4K resolution, directional lighting, dynamic shadows, edge highlighting, improved effects, etc. were also part of the pack.
Xbox One was the planned platform but it got delayed and now it's curtains down. “We aren’t happy with how the pack performed across devices. For this reason, we’re stopping development on the pack, and looking into other ways for you to experience Minecraft with a new look.” That end phrase does give hope to many but, they'll surely need to be patient.
"Super Duper Graphics Pack" is dumped.
